Hi there! I’m Jenny the Jam Jar! I’m made from clear glass. Some of my friends are made from green and brown glass, we come in all different shapes and sizes, and we all love to visit the bottle bank to be recycled! One of the best thing about recycling glass is that it can be recycled forever, so, when you’re finished with me and my friends, make sure to rinse us out, separate us by colour, and pop down to your nearest bottle bank to help us on our way to our new life - who knows where we’ll end up! If you’d like to learn more about what we can be turned into, watch our video here.
Hi! My names Bridget, and I’m a plastic bottle. When plastic bottles like me are recycled, they can be made into lots of things, like t-shirts, jumpers, fleece jackets, sleeping bags, carpets and more bottle! It takes about 10 bottles to make enough plastic fiber to make a cool new t-shirt, and it takes 63 bottles to make a sweater. So don’t forget when you’re finished with me and you’ve given me a good wash, just pop me into your recycle bin, and I can begin my new life…I can’t wait to get started. Always remember to Recycle and change for the better, and if you’d like to see more about me, watch my video!
Hi! We’re Contaminated! That means we weren’t rinsed, cleaned or washed before we were put into the recycling bin – which means we won’t get to be recycled into something new! When we try to turn into something fantastic and new, the recycling process doesn’t work how it’s mean to, and we go to waste! So don’t forget, when you are done with us, treat us properly. Before you put us in the recycling bin or bring us to the recycling centre, make sure we are clean and dry, so we can begin our new life just like our friends! Watch our video for more information on avoiding contamination!
