Repak Presented ESG Award to Origin Enterprises at Newstalk Changemaker Business Awards

As Ireland’s leading environmental organisation, we were proud sponsors of the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) category at the inaugural Newstalk Changemakers Business Awards, held on June 11 2025, at the Mansion House in Dublin.

This sponsorship underscores Repak's commitment to fostering sustainable business practices and recognising organisations with exemplary approaches to Environmental, Social & Governance practices.

Niamh Kelly, Head of Marketing & Corporate Communications presented Dan Wood, Marketing & Communications Manager from Origin Enterprises with the ESG Award and commented, ‘Repak are proud to sponsor the inaugural ESG Award and highlight companies that integrate ESG principles into their core strategy, balancing profitability with social responsibility and sustainable practices.  The standard of entries was excellent, reflecting the innovation, dedication, and leadership of the Irish business community in advancing sustainable practices.’

Origin Enterprises’ innovative ESG strategy was recognised for how it integrated sustainability, science and governance into its agribusiness operations. Their approach is a business strategy, an environmental commitment and a firm belief that the future of agriculture must be productive, inclusive and regenerative.  Origin Enterprises’ commitment to placing equal focus on nurturing the environment and nurturing our society made the nomination a stand out.

While agriculture remains at the heart of their strategy, the creation of the Living Landscapes division to support both food security and climate resilience shows true thought leadership.

A special recognition in the ESG strategy category was awarded to Easydry, for removing environmental harm from professional textile use.  Their business strategy focuses on replacing the traditional cotton towel and energy consuming laundry system with the world’s first fully compostable, single use towels made from eucalyptus fibres.

The following businesses were shortlisted in the ESG Category;

  • JANDO

  • National Broadband Ireland

  • Diageo

  • Auticon

The Newstalk Changemakers Business Awards serve as a crucial platform to acknowledge and reward innovative and impactful contributions across various sectors. By supporting the ESG category, we aimed to shine a spotlight on Irish businesses demonstrating leadership in this area. This alignment reinforces Repak's belief that strong ESG performance is not just a regulatory requirement but a fundamental driver for long-term success and societal well-being.
