Paper and Cardboard

Newspapers, magazines, cardboard boxes, phonebooks and cartons are all examples of paper and cardboard packaging that can be recycled. Make sure items are clean, dry and loose before recycling.

Steel and Aluminium

Steel and aluminium food and drinks cans, aluminium food trays, steel biscuit tins and tinfoil are all examples of steel and aluminium packaging that can be recycled. Make sure items are clean, dry and loose before recycling.

Rigid Plastics

Shampoo bottles, milk bottles, detergent and cleaning products and on the go plastic food tubs are all examples of rigid plastic packaging that can be recycled. Make sure items are clean, dry and loose before recycling.

Glass

Glass drink bottles, food and jam jars are examples of glass materials that can be recycled. Glass packaging should be brought to your local bottle for recycling and not placed in your household recycling bin.

  • You can recycle a wide range of paper including newspapers, magazines, junk mail, phone books, school copy books, milk cartons and egg-boxes. Remember to place them in your bin clean, dry and loose.
  • Cardboard is one of the easiest materials to recycle – please remove any plastics inserts first, fold and place in your recycling bin. You can recycle (unsoiled) food boxes, packaging, kitchen towel tubes and toilet roll tubes. Remember to place them in your bin clean, dry and loose.
  • Drinks cans and empty deodorant cans can be recycled (please check if your waste collector takes deodorant cans). Remember to place them in your bin clean, dry and loose.
  • You can recycle food cans, biscuit tins, soup cans and pet food cans. Remember to place them in your clean, dry and loose.
