Repak Team Green donates €11,000 to ‘Feed The Heroes’

Repak is supporting the heroic efforts and sacrifices made by Irish frontline heath workers by donating €11,000 to ‘Feed The Heroes’, an initiative which was born as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Feed The Heroes is a grassroots campaign, partnering with restaurants, takeaways, caterers and commercial kitchens to prepare and deliver nutritious meals daily to frontline healthcare workers. Over the 12 weeks of its operation, Feed The Heroes has delivered over 200,000 meals to frontline workers nationwide. It is now winding down its operation.

From April to June 2020, Repak pledged to donate €1 to ‘Feed The Heroes’ on the behalf of every individual who has ever signed up to Team Green. While the country was in ‘lockdown’, we focused on promoting recycling education and advice on social media channels Facebook and Instagram, including ‘Easter Recycling Tips’ and a ‘Can you recycle?’ series, offering polls and advice on how to recycle everyday items such as bleach bottles and tinfoil.

We are delighted to have gained a significant number of new Team Green champions during this campaign, bringing our Team Green membership to 11,000 individuals, who have all pledged to reduce, reuse and recycle.  Our thanks to everyone who has interacted with our educational campaigns and all those who have joined Team Green.  On your behalf, we are delighted to donate €11,000 to Feed The Heroes.
