Significant progress has been made in waste reduction and sustainability efforts. Over 2 million pads have been eliminated from trays, reducing waste. They've also procured 60 tonnes of trays made from 50% challenging-to-recycle Jazz plastic. Moreover, they transitioned their flow wrap sausage films from being entirely non-recyclable to 100% recyclable. Their retail trays now contain a minimum of 80% recycled content, with 475 tonnes purchased in 2022. Additionally, they've extended the shelf life of 30 products, including mince and steaks, by up to 2 days, showcasing their commitment to reducing waste and enhancing product quality.

Additionally, they plan to incorporate 30% recycled content into their top films. Their next objective is to transition vac pack rasher films from 0% recyclability to 100%, further enhancing their eco-friendly packaging. Furthermore, by altering the packing format for gammon steaks, they aim to save approximately 350 kilograms of plastic, demonstrating their commitment to reducing environmental impact and waste.
